Pepijn Al is a doctoral candidate at Western University supervised by Prof. Weijer. Pepijn is originally from the Netherlands, where he attained a BSc in biomedical sciences, a BA in Philosophy, and a MA in Philosophy (Cum Laude) at Utrecht University. His research interests are in research ethics, specifically in practical and conceptual issues concerning autonomy and trust. He is currently part of an interdisciplinary project which investigates how behavioral science can be used to improve research recruitment and participation. He is working on a subproject on the ethical permissibility of using behavioral influences during the recruitment of research participants. Pepijn also has a passion for teaching philosophy, which he has done at Utrecht University and is currently doing at Western University. Pepijn also loves to cook in his free time.
