Ahmad Awan is an MSc student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University, supervised by Prof. Charles Weijer. He received his Bachelor of Medical Sciences from Western University with an Honours Specialization in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is a recipient of the Canada Graduate Scholarship–Master’s (CGS-M).Ahmad’s graduate research focuses on the ethical and methodological challenges of cluster randomized trials in implementation science contexts. His broader research interests include implementation science, social epidemiology, and health economics, with an emphasis on research that informs health policy and practice. In addition to his thesis work, he is currently involved in a project examining the effects of pay-for-performance policies on diabetes care in Canada. He also serves as a teaching assistant in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
