Ariella Binik is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at McMaster University. Her research focuses on the ethics of health research with human subjects. Ariella writes about the moral justification for risk imposition, pediatric ethics, research with vulnerable populations, ethical complexities in rare disease research, and the ethics of different trial designs, including stepped wedge studies and challenge studies. Ariella received her PhD in philosophy (2013) from Western University, Canada, supervised by Charles Weijer. She also holds a Master's degree from McGill University's Biomedical Ethics Unit, and a BA in philosophy from McGill University. Before joining McMaster, she was a Research Fellow at The Ethox Centre at the University of Oxford.
