Pepijn Al is a postdoctoral researcher in research ethics at the Bioethics and Health Humanities department of the UMC Utrecht. He is working on several topics within research ethics, including the ethics of controlled infection models, equity and diversity in clinical trials, and climate change and research ethics. Prior to this postdoc, he obtained a PhD in philosophy from Western University supervised by Professor Charles Weijer on the ethics enhancing recruitment of participants for medical research by approaching the recruitment process through the lens of behavioral sciences. This research was embedded in an interdisciplinary project involving behavioral scientists, patient partners, and ethicists.
